Art Knife Invitational 2007 - Wolfgang Loerchner
#1 CARVED INTEGRAL

Length – 11 1/2 inches
Material – ½” thick 440C

Clean lines and a pierced handle contribute to a very light appearance in this piece. The carving flows from the tip of the blade into the handle, gently curving to form the butt of the knife. Satin finish combined with polished surfaces provides contrast. This knife was designed exclusively for the Art Knife Invitational Show and will remain “one of a kind”.

#2 DAGGER BLADED FOLDER

Length Open - 7 1/8”
Length Closed - 4 inches
Blade: 440C
Handle Material – 416 stainless steel, black lip mother of pearl, carved gold, Damascus steel.

Although the pattern is one I have used before, the treatment of the decoration is much more extensive and all new. Carved inlays in the handle combined with carved inlays in the blade provide a rich classic look.

#3 AKI DAGGER BLADED FOLDER 2007

Length Open - 7 3/8”
Length Closed - 4 inches
Blade 440C
Handle Material – 416 stainless steel, carved black lip mother of pearl, carved gold

The simple curving lines of this symmetrical folder are accented by intricate file work on the blade, handle and inlays. The handle decoration consists of 18 separate pieces, each carefully carved, fitted and deeply inlayed into the handle. Subtle but extensive file work on the stainless steel handle and blade combine into a very classic package. The knife comes complete with a certificate and the original design drawing. Designed exclusively for the Art Knife Invitational Show, this is the second knife of this pattern, serial numbered “02”.
