#1 “PHILADELPHIA BOWIE”
This knife is patterned after an early American Bowie of 1832. Blade – 10 inches, 154 CMP. Handle – ivory. Fittings – stainless steel. Sheath – red leather with stainless steel tip and throat.
#2 “DOG BONE DAGGER”
This dagger is an elegant, classy gentleman’s knife and was a serious fighting knife designed to be quick and easy to handle. The classiness of this knife comes from the feel of the knife as well as the shape. This dagger is styled after early American Bowies. Engraving by Ray Cover. Blade – 10 1/8 inches, 154 CMP. Handle – mammoth ivory with silver studs and escutcheon plates. Fittings – stainless steel. Sheath – 416 stainless steel.
#3 “GOLD QUARTZ”
Nothing captures the essence of the 1850’s San Francisco era more than gold quartz. The opulence and grandeur of the gold rush era is brought back in this gold quartz knife. The heart of the knife is the gold quartz mosaic wrapped in 18K gold. The gold quartz, which is rare and hard to find, costs around $1,000 per ounce in its raw state. In shaping, slicing and fitting the quartz into the mosaic, about half is lost. But it is rock solid after being fitted into the mosaic, polished and then bound by gold. In my opinion, gold quartz is the ultimate handle material for California knives. Engraving by Jere Davidson. Blade – 7 inches, 154 CMP. Fittings – 18K gold. Sheath – nickel silver with gold ball and throat.
